Good location and liked the slightly 'old fashioned' individual feel of the main hotel. Modern block not aesthetically pleasing but serves its purpose for a busienss market looking for a conference facility.

A tiny bit run down but note that reparations in progress. Shame about the smell of paint!

The lounge area, bar restuarant, etc was nice and the staff were very pleasant. The food was very good too.

The rooms seemed a little 'tired', some paper detatching itself from the wall, flaking paint, bathroom tiles loose fittings loose or missing etc. No great issue really but would benefit from some refurbishment.

The room was very comfortable, nicely heated and quiet. The breakfast was nicely cooked and the service was quick.

The hotel is close to the town center and the university. A good breakfast and helpful staff

a bit faded at the edges and very inconvenient with bagage

We booked using our corporate credit card. You failed to tell us that the card would need to be presented on arrival. The memeber of staff had to pay themselves, it was very embarassing!

        (1) The dinner was exceptionally good. (2) Reception staff very friendly and efficient - eg printing maps of the locality to help find conference location. Restauyrant staff friendly and helpful.

The hotel has no lift - this adds to its rural artmosphere, but it could have been awkward - my luggage was light, so I was ok.

The attention of the staff, particularly behind the bar and in the restaurant. The free parking. The cleanliness of the rooms.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was what caught my attention as I had a karate competition at the nia which was within walking distance.

Attitude of a member of staff but that would not put me off next time . ?Toileteries

Nice decor, reception area. Staff very pleasant.

My room was tatty, tired. Bathroom needs a total revamp as very outdated. TThe toilet didn't flush properly. The bed headboard looked as though it was fitted by an amateur DIY enthusiast. The curtain tiebacks were frayed and shabby. My room overlooked a main road and was extremely noisy, woken up by traffic noise at 4am! Not worth £75.

      • Group of friends
        8.4

The hotel was a really impressive building, the room was really lovely and clean and comfortable.

When checking in to my room the reception staff took a phone call during my check in with out saying anything to me, I found this rude.

      • Older travelers
        9.2

Good average hotel with large comfortable and quiet rooms. Good breakfast. We will stay there again.

Decor is a bit dated and tired. Very warm quilt on the beds which were too much for us especially as there was no aircon.

      • Couple
        6.4

Did not enjoy the breakfast - wasnt any breakfast juice and the food was not nice

      • Older travelers
        7.8

Good location, close to the city centre, and with fre parking. Food is very good - breakfast cooked to order and evening meals well presented, with good portion control.

Getting to the bedrooms involves quite a treck - up and down stairs and along numerous corridors as you go from the original building to the accommodation block. No lifts! The hotel is quite unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems or heavy luggage. A shame, because it's not at all a bad place to stay.
